Quick FAQ

This is just quick FAQ for you to understand the basics of using a wireless fence system. Each system is different from the next but all follow the same guidelines. If used correctly a wireless fence system will not only benefit you but your dog also. With just a few minutes a day for a few weeks you can have a fully trained dog roaming freely in your yard.

How does it work?

A hidden wire, usually buried underground, carries a low level radio signal around the containment area. A special collar is placed on your dog that emits stimulation if he gets to close to the boundary.

Will my dog eventually learn where the boundary is?

Yes, it will only take a few weeks of training but eventually your pet will start to recognize where the boundaries are set. It is recommended that you set the training flags for visual learning.

How long should I leave the flags up?

The flags should remain up as needed but it recommended that you keep the flag up for at least 2 weeks.

Will the correction from the collar harm my pet in anyway?

No, the stimulation will only startle your pet and not harm it in anyway.

Can I determine how much stimulation my pet receives?

Yes, the amount of stimulation administered to your pet can be adjusted.

How old should my pet be before I start training?

Most breed should be at least 6 months old.

How should I first introduce my pet to the consequences of the boundary?

The first couple times your pet should be on a leash so you can easily redirect him back into the containment area.

I can not hear the collar beeping, how do I know if my dog can hear it?

The high pitched warning tone set off by the collar is hard for adult humans to hear.
